Scripture: Start by finding the sections of the Bible for the day and read them. Mark in your Bible, highlight, underline or star the verses (Scripture) that speak to you. Then write one or two of them in your journal.
Hear: When we read the Bible, we expect God to speak to us. Take some time to hear from God and what He has to say to you about the verses you wrote down. Write out, in the voice of God, what you believe the Lord is speaking to your heart.
Apply: This is where the rubber meets the road. Write down how you can apply what you’ve just read and heard to your life.
Pray: Take some time to write out a prayer to God of what is on your heart. Ask God to help you, encourage you, and strengthen you to follow through on your commitments and desires for the day.
Exalt: This is a great opportunity to praise God for His blessings. There is so much to be grateful for in our lives!
Yes! Not all Legacy members use the SHAPE method, but we share it as a practical way to deepen personal relationships with our Savior.
We sow God’s Word into our lives and reap a harvest of God’s blessings through doing SHAPE!
At Legacy Church, we encourage you to take the step into hearing God’s voice by reading and meditating on the Word of God through SHAPE. Many of us here at Legacy are already participating in daily Bible readings and SHAPE journaling. It is an awesome way to stay in an active and deepening relationship with our Savior!
Every day there is a daily bible reading that takes you through the entire book of the bible each year. If you start SHAPE journaling today, you will deepen your understanding of the truth of God’s word as you enter into deeper relationship with Him.
