What We Believe...
There is only one God and He created everything. He is bigger and better and closer than we can imagine. He is the first person of the Trinity and co-equal with God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus is God's only Son whom God sent to earth to save us from our sins because he loves us so much. He is the second person of the Trinity and co-equal with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.
About the Holy Spirit
God lives in and through us now through His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a person not an impersonal force; He is the third person of the Trinity and co-equal with God the Father and God the Son. It is the Holy Spirit that sanctifies and empowers believers to be like Jesus.
About the Bible
The Bible is God's perfect guidebook for living, given to the prophets through the Holy Spirit. It is complete, God-breathed, and infallible.
Grace is the undeserved, unearned favor of God by which a personal relationship is realized and enjoyed through Christ.
Faith is trusting in Christ alone for salvation from sin. Faith is trusting that what the Bible says is true and it is only through faith in Jesus that we can enjoy a relationship with God.
Salvation comes by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. It means that your sins are forgiven, you are saved from hell, and delivered from the bondage of sin here on earth.
About Heaven and Hell
Heaven and Hell are very real places. When our lives here on earth are over, it is not the end but only the beginning. The beginning of an eternity spent in one place or the other based on your relationship with Jesus.
About Evil and Satan
Evil takes 3 forms. Evil is personal, it comes from within us and our sinful or fleshly desires. Evil is social and comes from the world around us and evil is supernatural, coming from Satan and his demons.
About The Church
We believe it is the purpose of the church to continue the ministry of Jesus by speaking His words and doing His work. The church is a called out, set apart, community of faith who believe in Jesus.
About the Nicene Creed
In a world being given over to moral relativism, (where the truth is being determined by individuals) we at The Legacy feel it is increasingly more important for Christians to be rock solid about what they believe as a community and why. The majority of our core beliefs at The Legacy can be summarized in the Nicene Creed, an ancient declaration created by early church leaders, (325 A.D. – 381 A.D.) to protect people from deception. The Nicene Creed served, (and still serves) as a biblical yardstick by which the truth of teaching is established and measured. At the Legacy Church we make a regular habit of quoting the Nicene Creed together at the beginning of our worship services as a way inscribing on our hearts the biblical truth that guides and directs our lives.
The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty maker of Heaven and Earth, and of all things visible and invisible; and in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also, under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven, and now sits enthroned at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; He shall come again in glory, to judge the living and the dead; and of His kingdom there shall be no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit the Lord, and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified; He spoke by the Prophets. We believe in one holy universal and apostolic church. We confess one baptism for the remission of sins; and look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen
